GIS specialized in port environments

The congress “use of GIS in port environments” on the 17^th and 18^th of January is organized by the Port Authority of Huelva. It is a meeting point for decision-makers in port management and specialists in GIS, who will present and explain the possibilities which GIS tools can offer for multiple aspects of port management. For example: management of the public domain, maritime traffic, security and the environment, inventory of port infrastructures, emergencies and port operations.

On the 18^th of January Lluís Tartera, Business Manager at Nexus Geographics, will present the GIS Web platform used by the Port of Barcelona. The location on which the Congress will be celebrated is an antique garage for locomotives, a building from industrial architecture and a valuable heritage which is renovated by the Port Authority and converted into a multifunctional cultural center.
