Nexus Geographics will actively participate in the ESRI Conference 2016

During two days, Nexus Geographics will actively participate in the ESRI Conference, Spain 2016, supporting a Thematic Session and a joint presentation with the Municipality of Sevilla (by Francisco López and Lluís Tartera) about the web application “Sevilla, World Heritage”. The aim of this web is to stimulate the diffusion and knowledge of World Heritage properties, offering its information through interactive maps.

The ESRI Spain Conference will take place on the 26^th and 27^th of October in the Northern IFEMA Convention Centre in Madrid. It is one of the most important events of the year on GIS and geocoding. It brings together more than 2.000 users, 700 companies and acknowledged experts in ESRI technology, developers, technology experts and professionals.

During the conference, there will be several áreas with sessions and workshops to demonstrate relevant cases on Digital Transformation in which GIS is a key element. Among them, the municipality of Madrid will show how they are using this technology to convert the capital city in a Smart City. On the other hand, the government of Cantabria will show how they have applied this technology to make regional information accessible to citizens, encouraging transparency and entrepreneurship within the region. the Vizcaya Provincial Council (Lantik-), will explain how they transformed land registry through maps; or the firefighters of Barcelona, who have improved their capacity to anticipate fires in the city with geographic analysis.

In the private sector visitors can also learn about projects like one from NIVEA, in which they have achieved to optimize their sales management through a simple Big Data platform for all their employees; or Repsol who will tell about innovative practices on the development of a collaboration project on open data.

Nexus Geographics will return to take part in the Mobile World Congress 2016

Nexus Geographics will join the Mobile World Congress 2016, the most important global event in the sector, from February 22nd to February 25th in the “Fira Gran Vía of Barcelona”. This Congress unites leading companies and professionals from the telecommunication and mobile technology sector in Barcelona, with more than 95.000 professional visitors and 2.200 exhibitors.

At their stand in the APP PLANET area, Nexus Geographics will present the last innovations in geolocation, like Satway (Verasat Global App to send free messages to satellite telephones from a Smartphone), Autopistas en Ruta (Abertis Autopistas App to ensure a comfortable and safe driving experience) or Routing Reparto (App to organize routes for companies).

• It allows a more agile and easy navigation and gives multimodal itineraries combining Catalonia’s public transport and private transport.

The Department of Territory and Sustainability has released a new version of the Generalitat’s route finder, called "Travelling", which makes navigation more agile, thanks to a new mobile and web interface that are more simple, clean and faster to use by the user. In addition, it is the first route search engine in the state that includes the private vehicle as a mode of transportation at the start and/or at the end of the journey, allowing it to give multimodal itineraries combining public transport + private. In this way, to a citizen who, for example, lives in a residential complex where there is no public transport and wants to travel, 'Travelling' will be able to offer him as an alternative to take his private vehicle up to the closest bus or rail stop and continue the itinerary in public transport.

Another new addition is that the points of interest (POIs) have been upgraded for the search of a new route and in the part of search by stop / station, now you can find both the railway (Metro TRAM + + + FGC Renfe) as well the bus stations.

The route finder 'Travelling' can be used for any travel within the boundaries of Barcelona, the Metropolitan Region of Barcelona and the rest of Catalonia, as it includes all the supply of Catalonia’s public transport: buses and subway of the TMB, railways of the Generalitat of Catalonia, suburban trains, trams, buses of the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, buses of the Generalitat of Catalonia, and the urban bus services in the major cities of Catalonia (Tarragona, Lleida, Girona, Terrassa, Sabadell, Vic, Mataró, etc).

“Travelling” in Catalonia’s public transport is the search engine of public transportation routes promoted by the Generalitat de Catalunya, integrates all the supply of public transport that operates within the territory of Catalonia. It allows to obtain the updated information on the timetables, transport lines, incidents, or damages to the service. This is born out of the collaboration with Nexus Geographics.

Nexus Geographics at the JIIDE 2013, Toledo, from 13th to 15th November

Nexus Geographics will be present, once again, at the IV Iberian Conference on Spatial Data Infrastructures that are held in Toledo from 13th to 15th November.

JIIDE is one of the most important events in the Iberian Peninsula with regard to Spatial Data Infrastructures. During three days of workshops and presentations, different initiatives and experiences are shared from Spain and Portugal.

Nexus Geographics has collaborated on three projects that will be presented during the conference:

"SITMUN, a platform for municipal territorial management", the presentation will take place on Wednesday, 13 at 15:15 (Ed. Paraninfo).
"Evolution of the Geoportal of IDE Andorra: Commitment for free software", presentation made by the Government of Andorra to be held on Thursday 14 at 16:00 (Ed. Paraninfo)
"GISWEB: Port Data Geoportal of the Port of Barcelona", which will take place on Thursday 14 at 15:00 (Ed. Sabatini)
